The purpose of CFD analysis for Cooler System :
CFD analysis has been used to analyze clinker cooler system in cement manufacturing process. Clinker cooler is using air to cool the material. The process is by blowing air to the clinker from underneath of a moving grate in the Cooler System. Several air pumps are used to blow enough air to cool the clinker.
There was an abrasion problem on the wall inside the cooler which was not known how the abrasion process really happened. With airflow distribution result from CFD analysis, the abrasion process can be estimated and improvement of the cooler system design was proposed.
BTS cabinet design was analyzed to improve cooling process for the electronic components inside the cabinet. CFD analysis predicts airflow path and distribution inside the cabinet and show how the process of cooling the electronic components. Optimizing the cooling airflow can be done by reducing air recirculation inside the cabinet, reducing air resistance for the inlets and outlets to the cabinet, and optiming air pump position and design. These will improve the effectiveness of the cooling process for the electronic components.
CFD simulations is used to predict cooling process in a ground vehicle. Vehicle engine needs a process of cooling using engine radiator. Vehicle is designed to make sure that enough airflow goes to the radiator. Also, enough air is needed to cool exhaust pipeline and any sensitive electronic component needs to be protected from radiation of exhaust pipe. CFD analysis helps the engineers to meet these requirements.
